Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today you're going to be taking a look at the PTC custom fit cabin air filter on our 2018 Subaru Forester.Now a cabin filter is gonna do for your car what a furnace filter does for your house. It's gonna filter all the air that's coming in before it comes through our vents. It's gonna help out a lot if you have allergies, if you smoke and just cleaning up the air that's inside the car.As you can see on our old filter, it is catching some small particles and some bigger things, which is a good thing, it didn't get stuck in the fan or make it's way further down the system causing more damage.The manufacturer is gonna recommend that you check your air filter every few thousand miles or about once a year. You're gonna wanna double-check your Subaru's owners manual to see the exact time frame.You want to start out on the passenger side. We'll open up our glove box and then all the way on the outer edge, we're gonna have this shock dampener that's mounted to the side of the glove box that we're gonna have to remove. If we grab it and we pull towards the outside, it'll slide right off. more

Also it keeps it from gunking up our HVAC system, so if you might notice your heating is not putting out as much as it used to or your air conditioning just isn't really working efficiently, it might be because your air filter is full of junk, so you need to replace it, get a new one in there nice and clean, make sure that everything's working properly.Again, we'll have that white media to filter out all those particulates, it keeps us safe and healthy inside our vehicle, it keeps everything working correctly. PTC Custom Fit Cabin Air Filter Installation - 2016 Honda Odyssey- Video

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the PTC Custom Fit Cabin Air Filter on our 2016 Honda Odyssey.Our cabin filter is going to do for our car, what our furnace filter does for our house. It's gonna take all the air coming into the cabin and filter it, make sure we have quality air to breathe.As you can see, the one we pulled out is quite dirty. It's actually turning the filter brown and almost a gray color and if we open up the pleats we can see a lot of large debris that's in there. Now, it's a good thing that the filter caught it because if it gets too far into our cooling or heating system, it can cause a lot of damage.Now, the manufacturer does recommend that you change your filter every 12 to 15 thousand miles, but you may want to check your owner's manual to double check.Changing is an extremely straightforward process. There's no need to pay somebody, take it somewhere for them to do it. In fact, it's so easy, let's do it together.To begin installation, we'll come to the front seat on the passenger side, we're going to open up our glove box. more
